Change is my passion — I’ve reinvented myself both personally and professionally time and again.
Whether it was working as a teacher in a German kindergarten in Romania, studying German literature in Düsseldorf (despite it not being my native language), spending time as an exchange student in Trieste, Italy, or most recently serving as a project manager in science and IT, I have always pursued personal and professional growth.
Whenever I felt that I could no longer act self-effectively and that my personal and professional growth had stalled, I began looking for alternatives.
Réka Török
I found the ultimate personal and professional growth in my training as a couples counselor.
I completed a world-class training in the differentiation-based couples therapy method (Developmental Model Training), at the intersection of attachment theory and neuroscience. Building on this foundation, I regularly advance my education at the renowned The Couples Institute in the USA and participate in ongoing supervision.
The Developmental Model theory views a couple’s challenges as a pursuit of psychological growth and development (both individually and as a relationship) rather than as a disease or pathology. It shifts the focus from what’s wrong to what’s possible, empowering you as a couple to create lasting positive changes and manage your differences and conflicts effectively over the long term.
My goal isn’t just to help couples identify the developmental stage of their relationship.
I also provide a roadmap and guide them toward what their relationship could become if they had the necessary skills and tools. Personal growth influences the development of a healthy partnership, just as a strong relationship fosters personal growth. In my couples counseling, I share cutting-edge techniques and essential neuroscientific insights about how the brain works to help address early traumas stored in the emotional brain that contribute to the pain couples inflict on each other.
